LOVING THE WINTER!!

well it has once again been a long time since i have updated this sucka. however, i would like to think i have been having too much fun instead of finding time to write. since my last update, three main things have happened. 1) i went home for Christmas in Idaho. 2) i continue to work 4 days a week, and 3) i ski/board a minimum of 2 days a week. first of all, Christmas was a great one this year. i got 10 days off work and was able to spend time with my family and friends. Scott and i went boarding at Kelly's Canyon. it was such a great day and even Pete was able to come. it was the first time i had been on a board in a few years and i recall it being much easier. my ankle was killing me for days after and my calf muscles. i realized I'm way more aggressive on my skis, but i am working hard at being able to kill it on my board too. anyways, being at home in Idaho is the best. i love playing with Hallie, Ky, and Jack. they are the funniest little kids i know, of course I'm biased based on the fact they all think uncle rob is the most amazing funny and favorite uncle in their lives. there was a ton of snow this Christmas and i was loving my new Tahoe. i know you all think I'm a retard for having 2 cars, but i just didn't want to put Jodi (Acura) through another Utah winter with all the salt and ridiculous Utah drivers. the Tahoe has been great to haul family and friends all around and up to the ski hills. I've even rescued a few stranded co-workers. work on the psych unit has been going so good. the people i work with are kickin and i have been exposed to so many new things. ill get that in a bit. so the crazies keep coming. with this economic crisis, everyone has become suicidal or gone nuts. talk about job security. just the other day Jesus came in. he was only 25, wore glasses, and was even clean shaven.... he did have long hair though. he proceeded to tell me i was going to hell and all this other mumbo jumbo, when his next room neighbor began to go off about how she was the last blood line of the human race because she was a mix blood through johnny depp and Ozzy Osbourne. i wanted to burst out singing "crazy train", but i had to refrain...haha. there are some good times that go on at that job. now to the fun stuff....since working on the psych unit i have made some good friends. one of the guys i work with has introduced me to moonlight ski trips, and some sweet back country skiing. on Dec 12th we hiked to the top of Alta and skied down under the bright clear moonlight. it was one of the most amazing experiences i have ever done. being up in the mountains and packing your skis to the top of this majestic mountain under moonlight is so peaceful. it makes you actually feel alive and blessed. it takes about 2 hours to hike up and then only maybe 10 minutes to get to the bottom. yet the experience is empowering. and so is heading into the back country on a bluebird day to ski fresh untracked powder :) since December we have hit the full moon in January and are headed next week to hike again under the moonlight. Kurt (the guy i work with) took me this last Thursday into the Wasatch for a little back country tour. the day was amazing! not a cloud in the sky and the softest fresh powder for ourselves. it was a wonderful experience and hopefully one of many more to come. in the pictures you can see a few of the peaks we want to hit this year. unfortunately my camera died and so i was unable to get pics of me in action :( next time though. this winter has been a little weak on the snow so far. the resorts have great groomer runs and a few soft off trail spots, but new snow is needed for further bliss. today i was up at Brighton resort with my friend Kylie (primary's co-worker). the runs were fast and the temp was perfect. this Saturday i am helping Dave run the Brighton ski team race competition. so today we got a few things ready. Dave was my big ski buddy last year. he is a nurse at primary's too. so life has been going well.....as long as i am outside or laughing at work.
