VIP BECK STYLE!

So Dec. 1st, i learned what a true VIP day is BECK style! first the day started out with a few crisp quiet runs at brighton. the ski season is upon us and with my pass im there every week. the snow was good on the groomers and the sun was out. it was a beautiful day. later that day i had a "date" with my good friend Kelli. you see....when i was still at primary childrens' she told me she would take me to a jazz game and dinner if i picked up a night shift so she could travel to vegas and see the one and only JT! i said yes and traded the shift and then a week later put in my notice. so Kelli got to see the concert, i got outta a night shift, and i still got my jazz game. Kelli knows how to do a jazz game.....VIP! our seats were on the 2nd row from the court and right where the jazz girls and bear come out (not impressed with the jazz dancers). also included was a buffet dinner, drinks, and halftime snacks. needless to say i was like a kid on christmas morning being that close to the players and all the action. in fact, the winning shot was made within spitting distance from us. so freakin money! i had a great time and hope to go again very soon ;) these are a few pics from the game.

Livin The Dream!!

so im a huge slacker at this blog thing (or even a journal for that matter). i keep getting crap for not updating so lets see what comes out this round.......so this summer has been great. i have been able to spend a lot of time in Idaho and on the golf course. i have been golfing about 2 times a week on average. however mother nature sucks and sent this cold weather a bit too early for me. i think the main thing i love about golf is just being outside under the sun and on a beautifuly landscaped course. its my own form of therapy :) my trips to Idaho have been way fun. spending time with hallie and kyden and my family is the best. my dad and i have been able to take a few rides this summer to different parts of the state. ill try to get some pictures up so you can see how amazing the rides have been. towards the end of july and first of august my brother and i flew out to cleveland to see my sis brittany and her husband pete and their kid jack. that trip was a blast. it is so pretty and green back there. one of the highlights was being able to road trip it to DC and see all the capitol sites. DC is a sweet city and has kickin monuments. i would have loved to spend more time there. also DC is home to the Washington Redskins, my favorite NFL team. i entered heaven as i passed through the gift shop doors and heard angels sing from on high. next spring i may move out with them to continue school and get some new experiences. one of my other most recent trips was a couple weeks ago. i headed out to Dallas with a couple buddies to watch the Skins play the Cowboys. for those who watched the game you know how sweet it was and it came down to the last minute of the game. of course the Skins won and the win was icing on the cake. since i have been playing a lot this summer and living the so called dream....i now realize i need some dough so im working 4-5 twelve hour shifts each week for the next couple months. so ill be busy but once ski resorts open ill be there 3 days a week. i bought a pass to brighton this year and cant wait. well i would say that is a good little update for now. hopefully more will come.

Alright Alright

so everyone wants an update. ahh where to start.......so as far a work is going, my new job at the psych ward is interesting and entertaining non the less. now keep in mind im not a heartless man and the people we treat there are good people, but for some reason, whether it be drugs or environment, they are not mentally stable and it may not be their fault. with that as my disclaimer, the things they do and say are hilarious. just the other day i had a patient who kept running out of his room to flip me off, laugh, and then run back inside. he did this action all day and it was all i could do to not laugh, or even flip him back off hahaha!! i had to conduct my first admission the other day and i must say it is quite difficult for me to not laugh at the responses sometimes. they told me their name was "Star Cloud Chaser" and that we were all living in a "matrix" style world and they were on a mission to obtain more power. he had all kinds of stories about government conspiracies, which were not to unbelievable. oh, and the best part was that he stated i had left him a message telepathically 2 weeks prior to his admission that stated "major league baseball is watching you, signed...Sgt. Bunny". of course i apologized to him for sending that. ill try to keep up on the stories for those that actually read this stuff. as for primary children's, its still a great place to be. at times i feel so burnt out and stressed when a kid isnt doing so great. each day i see so many traumas and sad situations and i cant imagine having kids. then all it takes is some little stud kid that thinks you are their hero or best friend, you see them adapt, stay happy, and progress and it makes me want kids. who knows though.....maybe i already have a few out there (kidding mom ;) so my most recent purchase was a longboard, not the surf board, but a surf board style skate board. yeah the thing kicks ass and is a blast to ride. working on a trauma unit though with traumatic brain injuries, you would think i would break down and buy a helmet. ahhh the risks we take. ill leave this post as such and as more pics and stories come along ill try to update. ps, for some reason i can never link to the blogs of people who leave me messages, how do i do that? add me or something so i can see how all of you are doing. love ya....... Enjoyin Life

well a week ago i headed south to mesquite for 3 days of some prime golfing. i went with a friend of mine from work. the weather was amazing and the courses were rockin!! also my ski season has officially ended. i skied last saturday with my cousins briana and cliff strupp up to park city. then sunday went for a little drive up to alta to bid the resort farewell till next year. this ski season has been a sweet one. i was able to average 2 days a week since december. now that the weather is nicer i have also made a few trips to hogle zoo. not a bad zoo i would say. the monkeys are pretty sweet and i was lucky enough to hear one of the mountain lions "scream" for the other one. a rare sound to hear and one you never forget. below are a few recent pics from the camera phone so enjoy!

Why Not?

so i have seen a few people doing these "blogs". i figure why not try one myself. i doubt i will update this that often, unless some funny situation befalls me and i feel the urge to share it with all. so for those of you reading this, thanks for stopping in to see whats been goin on in my life and the stories i have to share. as far as current updates: im living in salt lake (yeah tell me about it!!) and working at Primary Children's Hospital on the Neuroscience Trauma Unit. i love the job and the kids. the staff i work with are amazing and great to be around. i am learning a lot and enjoy the job......well most of it. i have also recently picked up a perdium job at the University Hospital on 5 West (Med-Phych). should be quite different from the NTU but i have heard good things about it so i figured why not make a little extra money. well for now this is a start.
